Join us for ForestWatch’s first-ever Raptor Experience, an unforgettable educational encounter with birds of prey led by licensed falconer Denise Disharoon of Talon and Flight Falconry. This immersive program invites you to experience the timeless bond between humans and raptors—a journey into the ancient art of falconry, its symbolism, and the wild beauty of these extraordinary birds.
Our setting makes this experience even more special. The event will take place in the terraced stone amphitheater at Topa Institute, perched on a hill overlooking the entire Upper Ojai Valley. Known for its peaceful energy and breathtaking views, Topa Institute provides a stunning and meaningful backdrop for this ancient tradition.
What to Expect

Two sessions—one morning and one afternoon—will offer intimate opportunities to learn about raptors, see them up close, and watch Denise work with them. During each session, four lucky raffle winners will have the chance to put on a falconry glove and “fly” a bird—a truly awe-inspiring and memorable experience.
Both sessions will come together midday for lunch and a brief program sharing the latest updates from ForestWatch.
