Last month, we hosted our summer campout as part of the Outdoor Connections program. Families gathered for a special weekend along the Santa Ynez River in Los Padres National Forest—some experiencing camping for the very first time. The weekend was filled with time spent by the river, shared meals, campfire songs, and hands-on outdoor skill-building.
In addition to enjoying nature, campers learned about the threats facing our public lands and took part in a conversation on current advocacy efforts led by ForestWatch. It was a joyful, meaningful weekend of connection and learning in the great outdoors!

The Outdoor Connections Program connects diverse communities in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties with the natural wonders of the Los Padres National Forest by removing barriers to access, providing educational resources, and fostering a new generation of conservation advocates who reflect the true demographics of our region.
