Raised in Wyoming, Adam developed a lifelong connection to the mountains and a deep commitment to protecting the public lands and wild places that have shaped his life. He spent nearly a decade as a seasonal wildland firefighter with the BLM, USFS, and NPS across the Mountain West before earning a PhD in Religious Studies and working in higher education. Adam later transitioned to fundraising and land conservation with the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy before joining Los Padres ForestWatch. A longtime Ojai resident, Adam enjoys exploring the big trees and wildlands with his wife and kids and believes that protecting public lands ensures that everyone can experience the same sense of connection and inspiration that these places have always provided him.
