Nikki is a graduating senior in Environmental Studies student at the University of California, Santa Barbara. During her academic career she has been involved with environmental advocacy and education projects, hoping to make tangible impacts on the health and accessibility of our environment. Through her work as an advocacy chair with the Environmental Affairs Board, she has been a leader in the UCSB Stop Sable coalition and has organized students to get involved in many Santa Barbara County public hearings. She has prior experience in consulting and environmental compliance fields, and is hoping to become more involved in restoration and environmental education. At Los Padres ForestWatch, she creates social media content to educate the public about the beauty and importance of chaparral ecosystems in California.
Nikki believes that environmental education is essential because the Earth’s health affects every aspect of life. One of the main drivers for her passion is her love for the beaches and mountains of the California coast as she enjoys road trips, swimming and hiking all across the state.
